your first appointment

We want you to feel comfortable and informed from the moment you first walk in our door. For your first appointment, our goal is to gain a full history of you or your child’s health, complete a full exam to determine their treatment needs, and gather necessary records such as photos and x-rays. On this day, we will provide you with both an overall picture of what treatment will entail as well as a determination of your time and financial commitment. Each treatment plan is customized and unique, and we are committed to developing a relationship from day one based on trust and open communication.

We accept many dental insurances, including Delta Dental, Cigna, Metlife, and Anthem BCBS, and will work with you to apply your benefit. Regardless of what insurance you may or may not hold, we want to create a financial plan that works for you and your family. We believe everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of and we strive to make that possible with our in-house financing.

At what age should my child first see the Orthodontist?

We recommend that every child be seen for an initial appointment at age 7. At this appointment we will evaluate your child for proper growth and eruption of permanent teeth. We may or may not recommend early treatment at this age, but regardless we encourage continued yearly evaluations. This allows us to catch any problems that may develop and monitor growth of the jaws closely. Usually, patients are ready for full treatment by age 11-13. 

Will I get braces at my first appointment?

At your first appointment, we will take photos, X-rays, and a scan of your teeth. Our doctor will complete a full exam and discuss treatment options with you. We cannot guarantee that you will get braces at your first appointment, but we work hard to respect you and your child’s time. If our schedule allows, we will be happy to get started the same day!

How often will I have to come to the Orthodontist?

During treatment, our appointment intervals will range from 6 to 10 weeks apart. Each interval depends on where you are in your customized treatment plan.

Do you offer before or after school appointments?

Our hours vary throughout the week, and we focus on creating a schedule that allows for before and after school appointments. We value education and understand the importance of being in school, so we like to offer weekday hours to accommodate that.
